Vaping question

I vape nicotine instead of real cigarettes- but reading here about the illegality of it – I’m nervous about flying in with my gear and liquids – I know it’s probably a long shot to be stopped and searched at the airport – but any additional info or horror stories would be appreciated. My vape is pretty expensive and I’d hate to have it taken away. TIA.
