Almost 200 flood warnings remain in place across the country this morning – four of which are “danger to live” warnings – after thousands of people were told to leave their homes.
Some 2,000 properties in Greater Manchester – which has also seen snow – were evacuated on Wednesday because of rising water levels, while people were also asked to leave their homes in parts of North Wales and Merseyside.
Gabrielle Burns-Smith, 44, whose home in Lymm flooded, said that she “watched the water coming through the back door” in the early hours of Thursday morning.
