Twelve Literary Arts director Daniel Gray-Kontar shares favorite dining choices: Five for Friday

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Daniel Gray-Kontar is a big part of Cleveland’s vibrant literary scene, encouraging young writers to find their voices.

The journalist, writer, slam-poet and musician founded local nonprofit Twelve Literary Arts in 2016 and serves as its executive artistic director, mentoring students in writing and poetry slam performance, and working with local authors to publish their works through a new publishing arm.

We caught up with Gray-Kontar to talk about his favorite dining choices around the city, and at home:

1. What’s your favorite restaurant in Greater Cleveland and why?

This is a tough one, but I’d have to go with Ginko in Tremont. It’s the best sushi I’ve had since I was in Tokyo’s Shibuya District. It’s a small, fun place where everyone seems to love what they do. Truly one of Cleveland’s gems.
