The Thaiger – Thai Hero Rescues 5-Year-Old Girl from Drowning and Exposes Family Abuse

A Thai man rescued a five-year-old girl and her older sister from a dire situation of alleged abuse and forced labor. The incident occurred during the Loy Krathong festival when one of the girls nearly drowned in a canal in Bangkok while trying to collect coins from floating krathongs.

The man, who owns a motorcycle shop in the Bang Mod area, was visiting a local temple on November 5. He saw the young girl picking up money along the canal bank and warned her about the dangers of falling in. Despite his warnings, the girl continued her search for coins and soon slipped into the water.

Thanks to the man’s quick action, he and his friends were able to pull her out just in time. Shortly after the rescue, a woman, initially thought to be the girl’s mother, arrived but did not comfort the terrified child, raising concerns about the girls’ welfare. This incident highlights the serious issues of child exploitation and the urgent need for awareness and protection measures in such vulnerable situations.
