Thailand’s Pen-ek Ratanaruang and Christopher Doyle Collaborate on ‘Morte Cucina’ Thriller (Exclusive)



Renowned Thai filmmaker Pen-ek Ratanaruang is collaborating with veteran cinematographer Christopher Doyle for a new psychological thriller set in the vibrant world of Thai cuisine. Titled Morte Cucina, the film is set in Bangkok and follows Sao, a talented young female chef who has a chance encounter with a man who sexually abused her as a teenager. Sao uses her culinary skills to exact revenge, resulting in an unexpected outcome.

Co-written by Ratanaruang and Kongdej Jaturanrasamee, Morte Cucina will be Ratanaruang’s first feature since his noir crime thriller Samui Song premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2017.
