KUALA LUMPUR — Tesla officially launched operations in Malaysia on Thursday, announcing sales, service and charging infrastructure plans as it joins other electric vehicle manufacturers already active in the Southeast Asian country.
Malaysia has been vying to draw investment from key EV players to compete with neighbors Thailand and Indonesia, which have been aggressively ramping up efforts to develop their own industries.
