Taste of Thailand coming to Staffordshire with new restaurant

A couple who met in Thailand are bringing a taste of the country to Staffordshire with the opening of a new restaurant. Andrew Higginson and his Thai wife Onuma already have experience of serving up delicious cuisine having started up a business during lockdown.

But now they will be launching their first sit-down restaurant in Stafford’s Salter Street. StaffordshireLive reports how the venture, in the former Bankhouse Diner and Bar, will be serving up authentic ‘country’ style food having previously launched Arroy Thai.

Andrew, who works in construction, said: “The idea was birthed out of lockdown. My wife is from Thailand and loves cooking. The name of the service, Arroy, literally means “Yummy” in Thai. We opened a small takeaway on Cannock Road and we got really good reviews.
