Swat Cats greet new boss Worawi with win

Nakhon Ratchasima’s Pralong Sawandee celebrates his goal against Police Tero with teammates.

Nakhon Ratchasima gave their new executive chairman, former Football Association of Thailand (FAT) president Worawi Makudi, a winning start, edging Police Tero 1-0 in a Thai League 1 home game on Sunday night.

Pralong Sawandee struck for Nakhon Ratchasima in the 22nd minute which proved enough to give the Swat Cats their first win of the new season after losing both of their opening two games.

Worawi, a former Fifa executive member who helmed the national governing body for the sport for eight years until 2016, took over the club’s top office on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, PT Prachuap wasted a two-goal upper hand to settle for a 2-2 draw at Suphanburi.
