Swap from NON-F visa to tourist visa

Hi all,
I am currently on a non-f immigrant visa expiring at the end of May.

I would like to stay a bit longer, but I don’t think there is a need for me to extend that non-f visa, for which I would need tons of docs.

Can I simply apply and get a tourist visa that can enter into force once the previous one has come to an end?
Being EU citizen, can I just apply online and stay in Thailand or do I need to exit the country and come back again on the new visa?
