Sukhumvit Indian fave Rang Mahal fires up first tasting menu

A longtime Indian favorite is moving up to fine dining with a 26th-floor view.

While some foodies know Rang Mahal for its a la carte dishes or brunch teamup with Mexicano Restaurante Autentico, the two-decade-old restaurant recently launched its first tasting menu that puts a fine-dining twist on its usual fare with six courses created by chef Lukinder Patiyal.

Instead of labeling dishes “appetizers” or “main courses,” Rang Mahal dubs each on its tasking menu after their flavor sources and cooking styles. It starts with Street, a vivacious-looking dish of puffed rice surrounded by beetroot sauce.
