Skate’r Thai! Get on board at this weekend’s Surf Skate Jam in Hua Hin

Since the 1920s, Hua Hin’s beaches, old-time charm, and laid-back vibe have attracted folks. What might surprise some is that, in the past four years, surfers have been coming to catch waves at Hua Don Beach next to Khao Takiab Beach.

November is here and that means the surfing season is officially underway in Hua Hin. While winter swells on the Andaman side disappear, northeastern monsoon winds create swells on the gulf – where Hua Hin is located – that last November to March. The waves are usually small, which is great for newbs and longboarders but less rad for advanced surfers looking for big waves to shred.

Hua Hin town also has seen the scene grow, and today there are two surf schools. This weekend we’re going all in on the first surfing and skating festival which will be one giant party at the beach and skate park.
