Thailand coach Rakphol Sainetngarm apologised to fans after his team failed to reach the quarter-finals at the Fifa Futsal World Cup in Lithuania on Thursday.
Thailand’s bid for a first ever berth in the Futsal World Cup quarter-finals was dashed after being beaten by Kazakhstan 7-0.
Thursday’s match was Thailand’s third straight appearance in the last 16 round which remains their best result at the World Cup.
“I would like to apologise to all Thai fans. Everyone in the team was disappointed. We gave our all but the result was not what we had expected,” Rakphol said.
His own future as Thailand coach remains unclear after he replaced Spanish Pulpis, who quit just weeks before Lithuania 2021.
