Planning a 3 maybe 6 month hiatus in Chiang Mai for next year. Anything I should know about ahead of time?

Pretty much as the title describes, I’ll be taking an extended year off from the rat race to do things like work on my weight, study for a few certs, sort myself out mentally and physically and overall enjoy living in an exotic area with great weather and decent internet.

Wondering if anyone here can point out some recommendations of things I shouldn’t miss while I’m there or pitfalls I need to keep an eye out for.
