Phuket to open to vaccinated foreign tourists on July 1

Quarantine period to be reduced to 10 days with conditions

Quarantine requirements will be waived for vaccinated foreign visitors arriving on the resort island of Phuket from July 1, the first destination to reopen since the Covid-19 pandemic struck last year.

The Centre for Economic Situation Administration, chaired by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o- cha, on Friday approved the proposal by Phuket’s private sector and business groups to inoculate at least 70% of the island’s residents to prepare for the reopening for vaccinated tourists,...
