Chonburi, Thailand – Takhiantia Subdistrict Mayor Mitchai Phakobtham, together with Mr. Sawet Charoenklang, Secretary to the Mayor, municipal council members, department heads, the Director of the Engineering Division, Public Health Office representatives, the mayor’s working team, and other relevant officials, conducted an on-site inspection to monitor progress and assess surrounding conditions of a key water-retaining weir project.

The visit focused on the weir construction project outlined in the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning’s plan, located along Sangkrapiao Road, Village No. 1, part of a plan to help resolve insufficient water related issues around the Banglamung area.

The initiative, officially titled the “Construction of Embankment Protection along Khun Nuchit Canal at Takhiantia Bridge, Village No. 1,” involves building a reinforced embankment stretching at least 350 meters along the canal. The construction site and adjacent areas fall within public benefit land (land designated for public use), offering significant long-term potential for community-oriented development.

During the inspection, Mayor Mitchai Phakobtham noted that several portions of the surrounding area remain vacant. He explained that with proper planning and thoughtful design, these spaces could be transformed into valuable public amenities, such as recreational parks, exercise zones, or venues for community activities, maximizing benefits for residents of Takhiantia Subdistrict.
