Pattaya News – Motorcycle Accident Involving Three Riders on Oil Slick at Bali Hai Pier: Locals Warn It’s a Continued Hazard

Early on February 7th, 2026, a motorcycle carrying three people lost control and crashed after skidding on an oil slick near Laem Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya, leaving all three riders injured.

The incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. when the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received a report of a motorcycle accident involving injuries at the pier area. Rescue volunteers were quickly dispatched to the scene to provide assistance.

Upon arrival, officials found a blue Honda Scoopy i motorcycle, registered in Rayong, overturned on the road with visible damage. Nearby, three injured individuals were located: two women and one transgender woman. All three suffered abrasions across their bodies and pain from the impact of the fall. First aid was administered on-site before the victims were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

According to statements from the injured riders, the group had been traveling together with three people on the single motorcycle. As they approached a curve near the pier and slowed down while braking to maintain control, the wheels encountered an oil slick on the road surface. This caused the bike to lose traction, skid, and overturn, resulting in the crash and injuries.

Local residents and the injured parties explained that this stretch of road near Laem Bali Hai Pier is a recurring accident black spot, particularly due to frequent oil slicks on the pavement. They reported that motorcycle crashes caused by slippery oil occur often resulting in injuries. Despite the repeated incidents, no serious action has reportedly been taken by responsible authorities to address the problem. Measures such as regular road cleaning, installation of warning signs, or traffic improvements have not been implemented.

Community members expressed frustration and urged relevant agencies to urgently inspect and resolve the hazardous conditions at this location. They warned that without concrete interventions, the spot poses a serious risk of more severe accidents, potentially including fatalities.

Authorities have not yet commented on immediate plans to mitigate the ongoing danger at the site.
