A multi-vehicle collision involving a trailer truck rear-ending a pickup truck carrying Myanmar migrant workers, followed by impacts with two additional vehicles, left 18 people injured on Highway 331 in Sri Racha district, Chonburi province.

The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on February 7th, 2026. The Pure Ying Thai Rescue Center in Sri Racha received a report of a trailer truck colliding with multiple vehicles on the newly constructed section of Highway 331 heading toward Mab Aeng, opposite Pinthong Industrial Estate 3. Rescue teams, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Chiraphong Sitthithanyalaksana, investigator from Nongkham Police Station, and officers from the station, were dispatched to the scene.

At the location, authorities found an Isuzu trailer truck, white, stopped in the far right lane, showing damage to the front left side. The driver was identified as Mr. Jirayut Khamkhian, 36. The primary vehicle struck was a white Isuzu pickup truck modified with a steel canopy for transporting workers, which had sustained severe damage to both the front and rear. The vehicle was carrying 18 Myanmar nationals as passengers. Two additional vehicles, a pickup truck and a sedan, were also rear-ended and damaged, bringing the total number of vehicles involved to four.

All 18 injured individuals were passengers in the worker transport pickup. They suffered minor injuries, including head lacerations, swelling, bruises, and pain throughout the body. No one was in critical condition or killed. Rescue personnel promptly transported the injured to hospitals in the Sri Racha area. The crash caused traffic congestion stretching over 2 kilometers.

When questioned, Mr. Jirayut, the trailer truck driver, explained that he was driving an empty container truck to pick up cargo. He was traveling in the far right lane at about 60 km/h when the worker pickup truck suddenly changed from the middle lane to the right lane. It then encountered traffic ahead and swerved left. He attempted to brake but could not stop in time, resulting in a rear-end collision with the pickup. The impact caused the pickup to be pushed forward, striking the two vehicles ahead that were slowing down.

Following the incident, rescue teams took all 18 injured workers to local hospitals in Sri Racha for treatment. Authorities summoned the drivers of the involved vehicles for further questioning and are proceeding according to legal procedures.
