The Thailand Grand Prix trophy was unveiled on Thursday as the local organisers of the MotoGP event invited fans to join the 22-day countdown to the race in Buri Ram.
The third edition of tournament will kick off on Sept 30 with the race taking place on Oct 2.
Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said the trophy’s design was inspired by the light phenomenon at the Phanom Rung Stone Castle, which is Buri Ram’s pride.
“Only three weeks remain until the start of the event and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, representing the Thai government and people, is highly confident that the country is fully prepared for the event.
