Onward travel?

I plan on travelling for a few months at the back end of the year, starting in Thailand before moving onto Laos, Cambodia etc.

Do I need proof of onward travel to show that I will be leaving Thailand? I’ve read on a few sites that need proof otherwise you might not be let into the country.

I will be booking a one way flight from the UK to thailand and will make my own way back at later date but I don’t have any time frames in mind.
