The country registered 10,879 more Covid-19 cases and 20 new fatalities during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Sunday morning.
This compared with 10,490 new cases and 21 coronavirus-related fatalities reported on Saturday, when the Department of Disease Control called on the public not to panic after daily new cases exceeded 10,000 for the first time since October 2021.
There were 10,701 local cases and 178 cases imported from other countries.
