Myanmar momentum: PTTEP pushes on with next development phase at Zawtika

Thailand’s PTTEP — one of only two remaining foreign oil and gas companies of stature in Myanmar — is pushing on with the expansion of its Zawtika offshore gas project by offering large contracts for four wellhead platforms.

Since the military coup last year, all the notable oil and gas companies with an exposure to Myanmar have exited or are exiting, including Chevron, TotalEnergies, Petronas, Woodside Energy, JX Nippon and Mitsui Oil Exploration.
