A 27-year-man accused of raping a tourist on Koh Chang island in Trat province during the New Year holiday was arrested in Bangkok on Tuesday.
Crime Suppression Division police arrested Sutthinai Deepaeng at an apartment room on Soi Ram Khamhaeng 117 in Hua Mak area of Bang Kapi district.
Mr Sutthinai was wanted on an arrest warrant issued by Trat Provincial Court on Jan 6 for alleged trespass at night, rape and assault causing serious injury.
He denied the charges.
The suspect had been drinking at a friend’s house on Koh Chang on New year’s Eve during a New Year party late on the night of Dec 31.
