Ko Jin Young defends his LPGA year-end title, earns 50 million + golfer of the year award

The 2021 LPGA Tour season came to an end on November 21 after world number two Ko Jin Young of South Korea successfully defended the CME Group Tour Championship at the end of the year. “In Florida, USA, by making a single day 9 under par, the total score is 23 under par 265, defeating Nasa Hataoka, the Japanese pro by 1 stroke, becoming the 5th champion of the year.

The victory allowed Ko to grab the prize money for the winner. Together with bonus points “Race to CME Globe”, the highest total amount of $1.5 million (49.5 million baht), resulting in this year Ko was the Tour’s highest-grossing golfer for the third year in a row with a cumulative prize pool of $3,502,161, and the victory helped her win the Tour’s Golfer of the Year award. It is the second time after 2019 as well.

Nelly Korda, the American world number 1 Finished the scene, grabbed the fifth place, scoring 17-under par 271

As for the Thai golfer who performed the best, “Projasmin” Thidapa Suwannapura scored 12 under par 276, taking 21st place.
