Muang Thong United coach Mario Gjurovski said yesterday it is important for the Kirins to do well in Thai League 1 after they were knocked out in both cup competitions.
Muang Thong host T1 leaders Buriram United tomorrow and Gjurovski said his men must beat the Thunder Castle to regain confidence.
Both teams played 120 minutes in the FA Cup last-16 round in midweek. But while Buriram beat T2 side Uthai Thani 2-1, Muang Thong bowed out after a 1-0 loss at fellow T1 club Chiang Rai.
Buriram will be favourites in tomorrow’s match after they beat the Kirins in the League Cup last-16 round last month.
