Keep your elbow tucked in for better golf swing

If ever there was a secret movement that’s required for any good golf swing it’s the wondrous magic inch or two as you start the downswing.

Most of us “hit from the top” in an effort for more distance as it seems like the more powerful move but it wrecks the correct movement you require on the downswing and then subsequently through the ball.

The problem with this move is that it immediately starts uncocking your wrists and inadvertently throws your arms away from your body.

The result is an over the top, outside-in swing, with most of the power spent long before you get to strike the ball.

Try keeping your right elbow tucked into your right side as you start down, as you’ll then automatically swing on the correct path, and you’ll maintain most of your wrist cock until the last minute, thus allowing the clubhead to swing at its maximum speed.
