Establishing a branch office in Thailand can be more complex, costly, and timely when compared to incorporating a private limited company. However, the advantage of a branch office is that it can be 100 percent foreign-owned.

Foreign businesses seeking to set up a branch office must also obtain a Foreign Business License and adhere to the regulations under the Foreign Business Act. The Act draws a clear line on what activities are regulated and restricted to foreign companies.
