Grab Fury: Riders shut down Phetchaburi Road until execs agree to talk

Hundreds of angry Grab riders converged on the company’s headquarters on Phetchaburi Road this afternoon to demand its executives address their grievances.

At about 1:30pm, the drivers flooded the street, shutting down traffic until  corporate management changed course and met with them. Just before 2pm, several executives appeared and the riders cleared the road.

Those protesting said that recent reductions in the commissions they receive coupled with surging fuel prices and too many riders competing for work left them no choice but to bring their complaints directly to company management.

Ketsiti Phusitthananan, 42, said working conditions changed after the pandemic, which prompted record numbers of new drivers to join the ranks.
