German Woman Surrenders to Thai Police in Pattaya for Alleged Involvement in Murder of Hans Peter Mack

Pattaya, Thailand-

A German woman who Thai police issued an arrest warrant for under suspicion of being involved in the murder of German businessman Hans Peter Mack, 62, in Pattaya, Thailand has surrendered to Thai police.

Mrs. Petra Christl Grundgreif, accompanied by a lawyer, surrendered to Thai police at the Nongprue police station at 3:00 P.M. today, July 11th, 2023. She had an active arrest warrant for alleged involvement in the murder and dismembering of German businessman Hans Peter Mack, as we covered here earlier.

Petra declined to speak to the media and did not immediately release a plea in the case.

She had previously been interviewed by Thai police over the weekend but at the time they did not have enough evidence to detain her.

Two other prime suspects with active arrest warrants, Mr. Oraf Thorsten Brinkmann, German, and Mr. Zahrouk Kareem Uddin, 27, Pakistani, are still at large according to Pol. Col. Santi Kornkasem, Superintendent of the Police Station, Chonburi Province. Further charges may also be forthcoming as the investigation continues, including to other individuals, noted Col. Santi.

All three suspects are charged with intentionally killing others and jointly hiding the body, said Col. Santi. Petra voluntarily surrendered and is under interrogation and being detained, Col. Santi added. Col. Santi encouraged the other suspects to also surrender.

The case is also being overseen by several high ranking Royal Thai Police, including top Thai police officer Surachate Hakparn, better known by his nickname of Big Joke.

Col. Santi also told the Thai media that a red Yamaha Nmax motorcycle was seized by police and is being tested for fingerprints. According to Col. Santi, the motorcycle is suspected of being used by what he believes was the ringleader of the murder, Oraf. The motorbike was found abandoned next to a beer bar in Nongprue and Oraf is believed to be attempting to flee authorities, said Santi.

We will continue to update this story on a regular basis as more information is released by Thai police and relevant officials.
