Football Association of Thailand ordered to pay Siam Sport US$13.7m

Thai media firm cites unfair treatment in commercial rights contract dispute.

Thailand’s Court of Appeal for Specialised Cases has ordered the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) to pay domestic pay-TV broadcaster Siam Sport THB450 million (US$13.7 million) in damages for unfairly terminating rights deal.

Under the court ruling, the FAT must pay Siam Sport US$13.7 million plus interest within 30 days. Siam Sport had originally sought US$42.7 million in damages from the FAT.
