Father and 5 Year Old Daughter Break Both Legs After Pickup Truck Crash near Pattaya

A father and his 5-year-old daughter have both broken both of their legs after a pickup truck crash in Banglamung.

The Huay Yai Police in Banglamung were notified of the accident on Friday morning (July 7th) on the Krating Lai – Rayong Road (No. 36 Road) in Baan Klong Yai, in Huai Yai sub-district. Police, emergency responders, and the Pattaya News quickly arrived at the scene.

The damaged white pickup truck was found slammed into a tree on the roadside. The father and his five-year-old daughter who was wearing a school uniform were stuck inside the pickup truck, they were still conscious. The girl was crying in pain while the father was trying to console her and messaging relatives on his cell phone about the accident.

Rescue workers used a hydraulic cutter to free them out from the pickup truck. The driver was identified as Mr. Nattawut Rueangkam, 26, who had broken both legs and suffered severe chest pain. His 5-year-old daughter had also broken both legs. They were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Nattawut told TPN Media that he had worked late the night before. He admitted to falling asleep at the wheel while he was taking his daughter to a school in the Pattaya area. He was about three kilometers from home when the accident occurred.

Just a few days prior a young woman in Pattaya had been rushing to get her own daughter to school who was late and ran a red light, getting in an accident and injuring both of them.
