Expressway Authority threatens to sue those who edit and share “Welcom” sign

After the Expressway Authority of Thailand put up an embarrassingly error-filled sign to “Welcom” participants at this week’s APEC Summit in Bangkok, the agency is attempting to limit the fallout from their mistake by threatening to take legal against those who share edited images of the sign, which quickly became a popular meme online. 

The Expressway Authority issued a statement Thursday morning stating that anybody who was caught doctoring images of the sign and sharing them would be sued.

“As of today, there are still people who have retouched and edited images, including forwarding such images, with the logo of the Expressway Authority of Thailand, intentionally or unknowingly causing damage to the Expressway,” read part of the statement.
