Doinks Burger Joint went from garage pop-up to Cleveland’s favorite new burger

CLEVELAND, Ohio — It’s hard to beat a classic like a good cheeseburger. It sounds simple, but most people probably have a clear memory of the best burger they’ve ever eaten.

Some of those people might consider Doinks Burger Joint in the Waterloo Arts District of Clevelend’s Collinwood neighborhood to serve their favorite. Doinks opened in August 2023, but owners Bonn Rassavong and Peter Brown, who owns Six Shooter Coffee, have been serving the Collinwood neighborhood their signature sandwich since 2020. The pair, who worked for years in the restaurant and hospitality business, were looking for a new venture once the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down.

“We were trying to figure out our next game plan as far as staying alive,” Rassavong said.
