Changing bankcards when you move

Recently I moved from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. When I went to bangkok bank for the 10th time they told me that they cannot change my card (which is getting very worn) and I have to contact the branch in CM.

My question: Does anyone know if they make an issue about me not being there anymore and not attending the school I went to there for my ED visa which gave me the bank in the first. Are they going to send my card over? Or is it just better to get a new bank here?

I rather not go and ask them cause I don’t want to potentially get my bank closed.
