CentralWorld slasher not high on drugs: cops

A man who injured two people inside the CentralWorld shopping mall with a box cutter was charged with assault but not tested for drugs, police said today.

Thanaporn Butrsee, 23, as of this morning had been charged with carrying weapons in public and assault after he used a box cutter to injure two women yesterday on the mall’s second floor, according to Col. Pansa Amarapitak of Pathum Wan police. 

Thanaporn allegedly cut a 27-year-old shop staff member in her face while another woman, a 23-year-old shopper, was cut in the neck. They were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Thanaporn reportedly told the police that he has been unemployed and homeless and went into the department store to “find a job.”
