Burning warehouse collapses on Bangkok firefighters, injuring 7

Seven firefighters were injured last night when the wall of a burning warehouse fell upon them as they tried to extinguish a raging fire in the riverside district of Rat Burana.

They had partially entered the concrete structure to spray water on the flames within when, in footage from the scene, a large concrete section of a wall broke free and tumbled down upon them. There were no reports of fatalities among the police, firefighters, and rescue workers who had converged on the warehouse near Soi Rat Burana 15.

All seven were taken to a nearby hospital. It took about two hours to put out the fire.

Though the warehouse, which covered about 5 rai (8,000sqm), was said to only contain dry goods and consumer products, the district director said occasional explosions were heard.
