Brazil holds first carnival since Covid

Two years after the coronavirus pandemic put Brazil’s huge carnival celebrations on ice, the city of Rio is set to host the frenetic festival once again, with its famous samba parades set for April 22 and 23, 2022.

RIO DE JANEIRO: After two long years without its frenetic festival of sparkling sequins, sultry samba and towering floats, Rio de Janeiro will hold its famed carnival parades Friday for the first time since Covid-19 hit Brazil.
