Bangkok’s newest old fad? Photo booths. Find them here.

The new thing Bangkok’s millennials are going nuts for is, like the croissants in their hands, nothing new at all.

Anyone who’s been to newly opened cafe Bonci lately may have noticed a long line of people, including celebrities like John Winyu and director Nawapol “Ter” Thamrongrattanarit, queuing up to take photos in a classic-looking photo booth.

It’s a project by Sculpture Bangkok, specifically co-founder Luksika “Pyn” Jiradarakul, a photographer and faculty of arts graduate from Chulalongkorn University who developed an affinity for photo booths while traveling abroad. She hopes to trigger a similar sort of nostalgia for old-school photo booths among like-minded crowds in Bangkok.
