More than 110,000 domestic and overseas jobs were filled by Thai workers over the past five months, reflecting the Labour Ministry’s efforts to create more job opportunities for Thais, according to Minister Treenuch Thienthong.

Ms Treenuch said that between Sept 26 and Feb 1, 66,741 people were placed in domestic jobs through the “Thai Mee Ngan Tham” employment system, while 40,086 Thai workers were deployed to work overseas through programmes facilitated by the Department of Employment.

Most domestic placements were made in manufacturing, sales, clerical work, warehouse operations and driving. Ms Treenuch said the Job Expo Thailand 2026, held from Jan 16-18, also helped place 3,795 people in gainful employment.
