Russian woman falls to death in Jomtien

CHON BURI: A 32-year-old Russian woman naked from the waist down fell to her death from a seventh-floor condominium room in Sattahip district on Sunday morning.

Local police were informed of the death at about 7am on Sunday. It happened at a condominium building on Soi Na Jomtien 4 Road in tambon Na Jomtien.

The body of the Russian woman was found lying face down in a pool of blood on the ground in front of the condominium building. She was wearing a green T-shirt and a jean jacket, while the lower parts of her body were exposed.

Mother’s Day cake inscription misunderstanding goes viral

Life in Thailand can be full of lost in translation moments. But on Mother’s Day – celebrated in Thailand yesterday – a translation was lost between a cake order and the inscription on the cake. A Thai woman’s attempt to surprise her mother with a cake went awry when the bakery, instead of just scribing the single line, “Love you, Mum” as instructed, wrote the entire order message.

The full order included the woman’s comments in the request indicating the bakery should feel no obligation to fulfil the request if it was not possible. She shared her experience with her Twitter followers, hinting both at the hilarity and the mildly disappointing note.

King’s third son, Dr. Chakriwat, joins elder brother in Bangkok

His Majesty the King’s third son, Dr. Chakriwat Vivacharawongse, is currently in Bangkok to join his elder brother, Vacharaesorn, who has decided to extend his stay in Thailand.

According to a Facebook post by Wassana Nanuam, a senior reporter at the Bangkok Post, this is the first time that the two brothers have been in Thailand after 27 years of living abroad.

Dr. Chakriwat has long desired to visit Thailand, to pay respects to his great grandmother, the late Princess Mother Srinagarindra, for being his inspiration to study medicine in order to help the poor, and to pay respects to his grandfather, the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

We will be staying near patong beach for first 4 days and in thalang district for next 2 days. Freak waterspout tornado capsizes boat in Thailand, injuring six | News

Footage captures the terrifying moment a freak waterspout tornado flipped over a boat, leaving two people missing and six injured in Thailand.

The ferry was returning from taking passengers whale watching on the estuary of a river in Phetchaburi province when the twister zipped towards them.

Footage shows the waterspout hurling debris across the water as the captain desperately tried to steer away from the tornado.

However, the full force of the wind smashed into the wooden motorboat – dramatically capsizing it in front of shocked onlookers.

Passengers scrambled to find the shore and six were pulled alive from the river.

Pink Line to start trial runs from Tuesday, will offer free rides from next month

The Northern Bangkok Monorail Co Ltd was set up by the BSR JV consortium, which comprises BTS Holdings Plc, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Plc, and Ratch Group Plc.

The Pink Line has 30 stations and a depot and park-and-ride car park at its Min Buri terminal.

It will have four connection points with other train services as follows:

• MRT Orange Line at Thailand Cultural Centre Station

• SRT Red Line at Lak Si Station

• BTS Green Line at Wat Phra Si Mahathat Station

• MRT Purple Line at Nonthaburi Government Complex.
