DENTON – West Texas A&M’s Loukyee Songprasert advanced to the NCAA Division II Golf Championships for the fourth time in her career as she finished third at the west regionals on Wednesday at the Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch in Denton.
No. 7 St. Mary’s won the regional title at 10-over after shooting a final round 1-under 287. No. 1 DBU finished second at 26-over with No. 5 Texas A&M-Commerce in third at 32-over. The Lady Buffs finished fourth at 33-over after shooting a final round 10-over 298.
Songprasert was one of six players to go under par in the final round as the Chiang Mai, Thailand, native shot a 1-under 71 under to finish at 2-over for the 54-hole tournament. She made a tournament-best 43 pars while ranking in the Top 5 in Par 3 and Par 4 scoring.
