The Sawang Rojanatham Foundation yesterday put its members through a training program designed to test their spirit and capabilities, while simultaneously welcoming new recruits.
The December 17th program, held on the premises of Baan Map Fakthong Cemetery, was spearheaded by Mr. Nangrong Boonbanjertsri, chairman of the foundation. He officially assigned Mr. Sompol Jongkolthakorn, leader of the rescue volunteers, as chairman for the event. Mr. Sompol led the training alongside other senior volunteers, guiding over 300 rescue workers– both experienced and new – through the rigorous challenges.
Running from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the training program focused on welcoming new members while testing their physical and mental resilience. The program involved various physically demanding activities, mental health assessments, and extensive practices on life-saving techniques.
Despite the demanding nature of the exercises, both new and old volunteers embraced the challenges with enthusiasm and dedication. New members displayed a strong willingness to learn and a genuine interest in honing their skills as rescuers. Many expressed a desire to serve their community and make a positive impact, with some stating that witnessing accidents they were unable to assist in due to lack of knowledge and training motivated them to join the foundation to contribute to the society.
