The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is recruiting one lucky explorer to travel around Thailand for four months and document their adventures. The chosen “Tourist of Thailand” will receive 504,000 baht in spending money for their trip, travel vouchers, and other prizes.
The TAT’s job advertisement reads…
“Do you want to travel all over Thailand for free? It’s not hard! Just submit an application for the position of “Tourist of Thailand” and prepare to travel the country!”
The chosen tourist’s responsibility is to travel around the country and create content promoting tourism. The tourist is required to create at least one social media post – a picture or video – every day of their trip.
The TAT will provide the tourist with 504,000 baht in total (126,000 per month for four months) to cover all of their expenses.
There’s only one position open, but applicants who get to the interview stage will be rewarded with travel vouchers, according to the TAT.
Applicant requirements:
Must be a Thai citizen
Must be at least 20 years old
Able to take and beautifully edit photos or videos
Must have several social media platforms to post content during the trip
Able to travel according to the TAT’s calendar
Applicants should upload their resume and portfolio onto the TAT’s online application portal here for a chance to get paid to travel to Thailand. But be quick – applications close on May 14 and results will be announced on May 28.
Successful applicants will be invited to an interview. The applicant chosen in the interview round will sign a four-month contract to be recruited into the position of “Tourist of Thailand.”
The TAT did not reveal further details about the itinerary of the trip, or whether the applicant would be responsible for planning it or not.
Last month, the TAT teamed up with Tinder to launch ‘Single Journey Season 2’ tours for single travellers looking for a romantic travel buddy. To kick off Season 2, the TAT and Tinder arranged two events: “Babe Fest” and “Singles on the Beach.”
