The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) yesterday thanked Miyo Okamoto for her two-year stint as national team coach.
The Japanese, whose contract expired, arrived in Thailand in January 2021 thanks to the cooperation between the FAT and the Japan Football Association (JFA).
Her tenure with Thailand was largely unsuccessful as the Chaba Kaew’s bid for a third consecutive World Cup berth ended when they lost to Cameroon in a play-off last month.
However, FAT president Somyot Poompunmuang praised Okamoto for pushing for development and laying a foundation for the team.
