Thailand stunned Turkey in a five-set thriller in their opening match of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Arnhem on Saturday.
The victory ended Thailand’s run of five successive losses against their sixth-ranked opponents, with the latest being at the 2022 FIVB Nations League quarter-finals in July.
Outside hitter Chatchu-On Moksri hammered out 33 points as Thailand claimed a nail-biting 3-2 (17-25, 31-29, 22-25, 25-19, 15-13) victory in Pool B at the GelreDome.
Pimpichaya Kokram chipped in 17 points.
