Pattaya-
At 10:00 AM (March 18, 2025), the Marine Disaster Prevention Radio Center (Marine Rescue) in Pattaya received a report of a two-story tourist boat experiencing a fire outbreak in the middle of the sea near Sak Island (close to Koh Larn). Upon receiving the report, rescue boats and firefighting vessels were immediately dispatched to investigate the situation.
Upon arrival, approximately 500 meters from the island, authorities found a two-story tourist boat, over 70 feet in length, named “Pattaya Bay Cruise.” Thick black smoke was billowing from the underside of the vessel, likely from the engine room, rising high into the sky and visible from a distance. Marine rescue officials and the boat’s captain conducted an inspection and determined that the incident was not caused by a fire but rather by an engine malfunction and issues with the exhaust system, resulting in a large amount of black smoke.
